Toronto, Canada's biggest city, was the location of sets for Anne of Green Gables, Anne of Green Gables: The Sequel and several Road to Avonlea episodes.
Private Residence This house is one of two houses that
was used as Green Gables in Anne of Green Gables. The second house is located in Uxbridge, Ontario. This house is located on the south side of Steeles Avenue
, between 11th Concession Road and Reesor Road, on the outskirts of Toronto. It was used for the close-up shots of Green Gables. This is the house we see when Anne first arrives at Green Gables. It is used quite extensively throughout Anne of Green Gables and Anne of Green Gables: The Sequel. It is also seen in many Road to Avonlea episodes.
Victoria University This university in the heart of downtown Toronto was used as Queens Academy in Anne of Green Gables.
The most notable scene is when Gilbert Blythe is being congratulated for winning the Gold Medal, and then Anne is congratulated
for winning the Avery. The grounds just outside of this building were used quite a bit also, such as when Anne is talking to Ruby, Jane and
Josie.
Spadina House This historic house, located on the corner of Spadina Road and Austin Terrace (near Casa Loma) in downtown Toronto
was used as the home of Aunt Josephine Barry in Anne of Green Gables, and as the home of Captain Ames in the Road to Avonlea episode
The Return of Gus Pike. It was also used as the exterior of the Thornwell Sanitarium in the episode
Thursday's Child.
De LaSalle House This building is located on the property of De LaSalle College in Toronto. It is on the corner of
Avenue Road and Oaklands Avenue. It was used as Maplehurst in Anne of Green Gables: The Sequel.
Old St. Joseph's College — In Road to Avonlea, Blair Stanley's (Sarah's father) house was actually filmed in two different locations. In
The Journey Begins, The location for the Stanley house was Old St. Joseph's College. St. Joseph's is a building on the University of Toronto campus and is located at
90 Wellesley St. The interiors of the Stanley home were also filmed at St. Joseph's.
The Stanley house in Season 2, in the episode Sarah's Homecoming, was a private home located in Rosedale, an old neighbourhood in Toronto. Unfortunately, I do not have an exact address, but it is believed to be on May St.
The Wilton & Straub Publishing Agent building from the Road to Avonlea episode Lady and the Blade is located on Adelaide St.
in Toronto in a row of historic buildings. This building was Toronto's
first Post Office. The scene from Anne of Green Gables: The Sequel where Morgan Harris talks to
Anne from his car was also shot in front of these buildings.
This building, portrayed as the Prince Edward Hotel, is where Clive Pettibone and Hetty mistankingly meet up after Hetty leaves the publishing office in the
Road to Avonlea episode Lady and the Blade. It is just two doors down from the historic Post Office and used to house The Bank of Upper Canada.

The Toronto French School —
Located at Mount Pleasant Road and Lawrence Ave in Toronto. The school was portrayed as the Royal Albert Park Hotel in the Road to Avonlea episode The Disappearance. It was where Jonathan and Lady Blackwell
were staying prior to arriving in Avonlea.
