2/9/07 — Members of the Lucy Maud Montgomery (LMM) Society, along with trustees of the Presbyterian congregation in Leaskdale, Ontario gathered for the official handing over of the keys to the Leaskdale Presbyterian Church. The Society just purchased the church to help preserve it's history. The church, more than 100 years old and once ministered by the husband of the famous author Lucy Maud Montgomery, is just a pebble's throw from the Lucy Maud Manse where they resided from 1911 to 1926. 11/16/06 — Cedric Smith will be one of the featured readers in Theatre Muskoka's staged reading of ‘Letter to the West Wind’. This play is about the iconic Canadian painter Tom Thomson. It is a compelling look into the life of Thomson. It's a beautiful tribute of song, poetry and the drama about a man driven to paint the north. 08/12/06 — the MacNeill homestead in Cavendish, PEI was declared a national historic site yesterday. LMM wrote four of her books from this home, including Anne of Green Gables. See the CBC News Article for the complete story.
7/18/06 — Sarah Polley's feature film Away From Her will be featured at this years Toronto International Film Festival. This is Sarah's debut film as a director. The film stars Gordon Pinsent, a regular guest star of RTA. For more information, please visit the CBC Arts & Entertainment article.

5/12/06 — Gema Zamprogna is now the proud mother of her second child, Sam. He was born on May 8th, one day after she was to attend the official cast reunion. Sam has one sibling, eighteen month old sister Ella.

2/4/06 — Anne and Gilbert, The Island Love Story will be onstage in Summerside, PEI this summer. Anne and Gilbert, the hit musical, will be produced at the Harbourfront Jubilee Theatre in Summerside. The show will run July 12th to September 3rd. For ticket information call 1-800-708-6505.
On the evening of August 4, 2005, Anne and Gilbert began its world premiere run at the Victoria Playhouse in Victoria–By–the–Sea, Prince Edward Island. Based on the sequel novels to Anne of Green Gables, this new Canadian musical tells the story of Anne Shirley’s journey into young adulthood and her romance with Gilbert Blythe. Forty–four shows and forty–four sold–out houses later, Anne and Gilbert was hailed in the Toronto Star as “a marvel”; the Halifax Chronicle Herald called it “heartwarming, tear–inducing, thoroughly satisfying”; PEI’s Buzz said it “will surely become a classic.”

1/28/06 — Megan Follows will be performing in The Real Thing, a play by Tom Stoppard from June 10th to July 29th. The play is part of the soulpepper Theatre Company’s 2006 season. “The Real Thing is one of the great comedies of the last 50 years. It combines Stoppard’s brilliant and innovative exploration of theatrical form, his unequalled wit, a blinding intelligence and, most remarkably, a deep and heart-filled examination of what is real in love and art.”
1/24/06 — Announcing the very first official Road to Avonlea cast reunion! That's right, on May 7 2006, Jackie Burroughs (Hetty King), Sarah Polley (Sara Stanley), R.H. Thompson (Jasper Dale) and Mag Ruffman (Olivia Dale) will descend upon the Royal Ontario Museum for an official cast reunion. According to Kevin Sullivan, "The event was being organized by Mag Ruffman (Olivia King). We were invited to the ROM to discuss historical details about the series both in terms of production design and accurate portrayal of period characters. I think all four of us are really looking forward to seeing each other again and to collaborating on this whimsical and inventive invitation." Information has not yet been posted on the ROM website, but will be shortly according to ROM sources. Cast members attending are tentative, and may change.
11/29/05 — Jackie Burroughs will receive the Governor General’s Award in Ottawa on Friday, December 2nd. Jackie is the third star of Road to Avonlea to receive this award. Gordon Pinsent (a regular guest star) received the award last year, and the late Frances Hyland (Nanny Louisa) received the award in 1994.
Each recipient will receive $15,000 and a commemorative medallion. The award, Created by former governor general Ray Hnatyshyn, recognizes an individual's lifetime achievement in the performing arts and his or her outstanding contribution to the cultural life of Canada.
