Doon Heritage CrossroadsDoon Heritage Crossroads —This historic museum located at 10 Huron Road at Homer Watson Boulevard in Kitchener, Ontario was used quite a bit for the filming of Anne of Green Gables and Anne of Green Gables: The Sequel. The Sararas-Bricker house was portrayed as the exterior of the Hammond house. The Seibert house was Rachel Lynde's house. The interior and the exterior of the Post Office were depicted as the Avonlea Post Office. The General store was Lawson's General Store in Anne of Green Gables: The Sequel. This is where Anne wins the Rollings Reliable contest.
Scarborough Historic Museum — Located about 16km from downtown Toronto, this museum at 1007 Brimley Rd. in Scarborough, ON depicts the lives of early settlers in the 1800's. It's located in Thomson Memorial Park, which was originally granted to David and Mary Thomson. The couple gave the land to the city for use as a park to commemorate the city's first settlers. As the park was being constructed, the historical Cornell House, built in 1858, was threatened with demolition to make way for a railroad overpass. The community rallied together to save the home, which ended up in the park, along with the McCowan log cabin, the Kennedy Gallery and the Hough Carriage Works. The Cornell House kitchen was used for the scene in the Barry house when Anne is trying to help Minnie May Barry. A bedroom in the same house was used for the sleepover scene. Halton County RailwayHalton County Radial Railway — The Halton County Radial Railway is Canada's first, and Ontario's only, operating electric railway museum. This museum was used to shoot the scene in Anne of Green Gables when Anne is leaving to go to Queens Academy. The museum is located at 13629 Guelph Line, Milton, Ontario, Canada.
Dundas ValleyDundas Valley Conservation Area —Is located at 650 Governer's Rd in Dundas, Ontario. On this property is a turn of the century train depot that was used in Anne of Green Gables: The Sequel. It was portrayed as the Kingsport train station, and this is where Miss Stacey meets Anne. This station can also be seen in the Road to Avonlea episode Comings and Goings.
Simcoe County Museum Simcoe County Museum — The Simcoe County Museum is home to the schoolhouse in Anne of Green Gables. As late as the 1960's, one-room schoolhouses were still in use in many rural areas of Simcoe County.This is the former Minesing Station school, which was built around 1900 in the village of Minesing. The Simcoe County Museum is located at 1151 Highway 26, Minesing, Ontario, minutes northwest of Barrie. From Barrie, follow Bayfield Street North and exit at Highway 26. The Museum is on the south side of the highway.
WhitehernWhitehern — Whitehern, in Hamilton, Ontario was portrayed as Captain Harris' house in Anne of Green Gables: The Sequel. The Mansion, located at 41 Jackson Street West, is the former estate of the McQuestens, who were one of the most historically prominent families in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.
WoodendWoodend — is the historic building that houses the Hamilton Region Conservation Authority at 838 Mineral Springs Road, Ancaster, Ontario. This home was the backdrop for the end of the hayride scene in Anne of Green Gables. It is also where the Pringle girls let the sheep escape out of the wagon.
Andrew CameronAndrew Cameron's house, from the Road to Avonlea episode Old Lady Lloyd, is in the town of Port Perry.
Salem and HillsboroughSalem and Hillsborough Railway — The steam train scene that is used as a transition scene in Road to Avonlea and in the scene in Anne of Green Gables: The Sequel where Anne journeys with the Harrise's to Boston is the Salem and Hillsborough Railway outside of Moncton, New Brunswick. The water in the background that appears to be the ocean is actually a river.
Tomgallen HouseThe house that was the Pettibone's house (also known as the Tomgallen house) in the Road to Avonlea episode Lady and the Blade was a farmhouse near Port Perry, ON. The Pettibone's eventually move into a house in the village that was once the Ray's house.
Chalk LakeChalk Lake — This lake adjoins the same property that the Pettibone's/Tomgallen house was located on in Port Perry, ON. The scene in the photo is from the episode But When She Was Bad, She Was Horrid - Part 2. The same lake was used for the scene in the episode Love May Be Blind, But The Neighbours Ain't when Olivia and Jasper fall out of the boat.
Evelyns' HouseThis house, from the Road to Avonlea episode Evelyn, was Evelyn's house. The house is a farmhouse on Beare Rd, South of Steeles Ave. in Markham, Ontario. This location is actually quite close to the Green Gables Farm location at Steeles Ave. and Reesor Rd. This farmhouse was first used as John Harrison's house in Old Friends, Old Wounds. In order to make it look different for Evelyn, the entire house was painted yellow.
